Villa Coco Palm is a private villa on Réunion Island, where tropical nature meets the calm of a refined address. For its identity, I paired an icon of fine lines with a high-contrast serif whose curves follow the movement of water. The palette is drawn from the island, from the red of the flamboyant tree to the olive green of palm leaves. An illustrated version of the icon, drawn by hand, brings warmth and texture to the whole.

The icon is built from one gesture, repeated: fine lines fanning out from a single point. Taking its shape from the ribbed pendant lights of the villa, echoing the palms of the garden and nodding to Art Deco, the mark also reads as falling water or the curve of a shell. Each guest finds a different image in it.

The icon lives in two versions. In fine lines, it signs the logo with precision. Drawn by hand and set inside an oval crest, with the villa’s name turning around it, the illustrated version becomes a seal in the spirit of the old hotel emblems, softer and more intimate.
The serif answers the strict geometry of the icon with curves that recall water, while a few unexpected letterforms bring the one detail that doesn’t quite behave.
